Welcome to Zion-Lippe United Church of Christ.

We are honored that you have taken the time to visit us here on the web, and we at Zion Church would like for you to know that our community is open to everyone.

Maybe you are wondering about the name... Zion-Lippe? Lippe is the state in Germany that our founders came from and for which they named their local community here in Indiana. “Zion” is a biblical word that describes the city of God. It is a place where God dwells and leads his people. We are “United” because we hope to represent a blending of various Christian experiences welcoming people from various backgrounds. We are “of Christ”. In our differences we nevertheless are followers of Jesus, the sent one of God. We are a “Church”. A church is ‘the assembly” or the gathering of people together who are committed to Jesus and who want to grow in their walk with him as their Savior and as their Lord.

Therefore, our goal is to be a community of followers of Jesus who, even though we have various backgrounds, gather with each other because we want to be led by God together and experience God's living presence in our lives. We want to experience what the Bible promises when it says “If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!” (2 Corinthians 5.17)

As you view these web pages we hope you will see the living gathering of God’s people as believers in Jesus being realized. We also hope that you will know you are welcome to join us in following Jesus and you are welcome to contribute to our community of faith. We need the love and talent which God has given you to help us all grow.

We look forward to hopefully hear from and see you at Zion Church.
